Jun 15 @ 6:00 am – 7:00 pm

Outing: Santee Lakes with Lin

Arrival
The Gates open at 6 am. Use the walk in gate (free)about mid-way down the north east side of the park or drive in gate at the southern end of the park. (you can also walk in thru this gate too.

Departure
Anytime. Since Al, the Bar-B-Q man, is not going to be back in time for the event, if anyone else would like to organize a bar-b-q, please let me know. If not, suggest that we do a late afternoon early evening
dinner at Carlton Oaks Golf Course Bar and Grill.

If we aren’t doing a Bar-B-Q I won’t get the pavillion but you can use my RV spot #222 (north side of park, past the swimming pool) as a place to drop coolers or anything that you don’t want to carry around with you. You will have to text me in the park as phone service is sketchy in areas. 312-371-3234.

There is a band in the evening and you are welcome to stay and we can have a fire too.

Parking
There is street parking along the main roads thru the park. There is a lot by lake 5 and if you continue north there is parking by the clubhouse/pool. There is street parking outside the park on Fanita or Lake Canyon Blvd.

Bring with you.
Besides your camera gear, bring a hat, sunscreen, sturdy walking shoes (boots for the back country hike), water bottles (there are places to refill them) snacks, a jacket, and portable chair. If you want to
swim, bring a suit a towel. Bikes are welcome too. I’ll have a cooler with some bottled water at #222 and a table for snacks.

Wander freely around the park during the day. There are several bathrooms, although construction around the office area can make walking around there difficult Need to rest, pull up a bench or picnic table. I’ll have some chairs, water and if you want to bring snacks you can leave them at my RV. There are a few timed activities as follows.

7:30 am
Meet at the club house and Hike back on the Oak Creek trail. This is on the north side of the park. This is a more rugged area with two more lakes and better opportunity to see wild life. Wear hiking boots or
sturdy shoes. If anyone has a walking stick please bring it. You may see snakes/coyotes on this walk.

11:00 am
Carol Murdock has volunteered to host brunch at 9960 Jay Ct. in Santee. It is about 3 miles from the park. Drive east on Mast Ave, then eft on Cuyamaca till it ends, then right and another right on Jay Ct.
Please RSVP so that she knows how many people to prepare for. 619-749-2467.

4:00 pm
Depart for Carlton Oaks Bar and Grill. This is an East County Hidden gem and the blue cheese burger looks fab. It is less than 5 minutes from the park’s south gate. It is a walkable distance from the park. But we can car pool too.

6:30 pm
Concert starts at 7:00. Start campfire, get drinks etc

Poly Potluck
Nov 16 @ 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

We will be meeting at the PAB for Poly’s annual feast and photo sharing. Bring something yummy to share with your fellow club members. We’ll begin at 9:30.

Those who wish to help with set-up, please arrive around 9:00. We’ll be dining in the main projection room. This is always a great chance to chit-chat and have fun with fellow club members. After our potluck, we’ll view images from members.

If you want to share images, please bring them on a stick-drive the day of the event. A CD or DVD will suffice, but a stick drive is best. Your presentation should be no more than 5 minutes. It’s always fun to see what others can come up with in this non-competitive atmosphere. Maybe a special project you’ve been working on or images from your vacation, etc. This can be a PowerPoint, video or a series of photos. Any images from a this year’s Poly outings such as Santa Fe, St. George or Mission San Juan Capistrano would be a nice highlight.

The morning will end when our stomachs are full and the images have been viewed, sometime around noon??
